Gaueko

GAUEKO

For the citizen, the night in nature is the most important
defeat under the uncontrollable. Remain in the hands of the unknown.

If he can, light a flashlight. He’s doing it to get back
the day, to regain control and self-confidence. But, uh, but
finds nothing but his own fears, his own loneliness. Visible only speaks
of the occult.

In Euskalherria, these sensations produced by the
darkness, and even the night itself, receive the name
of Gaueko (“the night one”). An invisible spirit
that inhabits the
night spots, lurking in the depths of them.

That is why it is said that:”Gaua gauekoentzat, eguna egunekoentzat”; the day for who belongs to the day, the night for
who belongs to the night.”
